Bono Ahafo Students’ Union relaunched in Sunyani

The Omanhene of Sunyani, Ɔdɛɛfoɔ Ɔgyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, has advised members of the Bono Ahafo Students’ Union (BASU) to stay confident and serve as good ambassadors of the Bono people.

Speaking as the Special Guest of Honor at the relaunch of BASU at a ceremony in Sunyani, the Omanhene further asked the leadership of the union to work towards the expansion of BASU across the various educational institutions.

Ɔdɛɛfoɔ Ɔgyeamansan Boahen Korkor II urged members to stay active and united in line with their mission and asked them to keep themselves abreast of Bono Ahafo heritage and the Bonokyempem Council to foster cultural awareness. 

He highlighted the importance of collaboration between traditional leadership and student bodies in fostering development and education in the region and advised the leaders of the group to promote unity among students from the Bono and Ahafo regions. 

The Bono Ahafo Students’ Union (BASU) is a student organization at various educational institutions specifically for students from the Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo regions of Ghana. It is a non-profit organization that aims to unite and support students from these regions while they pursue their education. BASU also organizes various events and activities, including an annual anniversary celebration.

Any student from the Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo regions in school is eligible to become a member.

Worship at Arena of Miracle Church

Meanwhile, Ɔdɛɛfoɔ Ɔgyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, the Paramount Chief of the Sunyani, recently worshipped with the Arena of Miracle Church in Sunyani.

The visit formed part of the chief’s recognition of what God has done in his life and as a way of appreciating His kindness and protection towards him

Accompanied by some Sub-Chiefs, Queen mothers and some key personalities at the Sunyani Traditional Council, the Omanhene’s presence with his entourage added extra beauty to the church as most of those who followed the chief came in their various kente and other traditional designs.

His visit showed his commitment to community development, interfaith dialogue, and social cohesion
