Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, the Omanhene of Sunyani, has visited the premises of Circuit Court B and District Magistrate Court B after a recent fire outbreak disrupted judicial activities in the area.
He was joined by leading members of the Sunyani Traditional Council, including Nana Boadi Akrofa II, Adontenhene; Nana Asante Krobea, Twafuorhene; Nana Addai Mununkum, Sunyanitifihene; Nana Appiah Kubi, Akyempimhene and Mr. Ransford Antwi, Chairman of the Sunyani Customary Land Secretariat.
The delegation was welcomed by officials of the Judicial Service of Ghana, led by Justice Joyce Boahen, the Supervising High Court Judge for Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions. Other officials present included Mr. Charles Baido, Director of Court Services; Mr. Noble Notifafa, Director of ICT; Mr. Ablade Cyllis, Director of Estate; Mr. Ernest Boakye, Regional Administrative Officer, Ahafo Region and Ms. Josephine Ehuren, Regional Administrative Officer, Bono Region, among others.
Addressing those present, the Sunyanimanhene expressed his sympathy to staff of the Judicial Service and emphasized the need for urgent restoration of court operations.
The Omanhene stressed that sustainable community development depends on an effective justice system, underscoring the importance of quickly rebuilding the damaged facilities.
In a show of commitment, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen KorKor II and the council pledged financial support toward reconstructing the court complex.
He also announced plans to fund the installation of CCTV systems to enhance security once reconstruction is completed and further appealed to residents of Sunyani, particularly business leaders, investors, and corporate organizations, to support the rebuilding effort, describing it as a collective responsibility.
Additionally, he called on the Ghana Police Service to fast-track investigations into the fire incident to pave the way for prompt reconstruction.
