STU’s HR Director is now Kyidomhene of Sunyani

51-year-old Stephen Kwabena Yeboah, the Director of Human Resource Development at the Sunyani Technical University (STU) has been enstooled as the Kyidomhene of Sunyani Traditional Council.

He was enstooled by the Omanhene of Sunyani, Ɔdɛɛfoɔ Ɔgyeamansan Boahen Korkor II at a colourful ceremony at the Victoria Park amidst rich cultural display.

With Nana Kwabena Sae III, as his traditional name, the new Kyidomhene succeeds Nana Antwi Boasiako II, who passed away earlier this year.

Hundreds of people from all walks of life thronged Victoria Park, a popular assembly point at the heart of Sunyani, where the enstoolment took place.

Management and staff of the Sunyani Technical University were there in their numbers to assure their compatriot of their support as he assumes his new role as a traditional leader.

The Chairman of the STU Governing Council, Prof. Samuel Awuah-Nyamekye; the Vice-Chancellor, Ing. Prof. Kwadwo Adinkrah-Appiah; the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Justice Solomon Korantwi-Barimah, who is also the newly appointed Ghana’s Ambassador to Egypt and Mr. Thomas Kwarfo, the Director of Finance of STU as well as Deans, Directors, Heads of Department at STU were all at the event grounds on Monday September 8, 2025.

Brief profile

Nana Kwabena Sae III, the newly enstooled Kyidomhene of Sunyani, was born on August 27, 1974. His educational journey began at Twene Amanfo Secondary/Technical School (TASTECH) in Sunyani, where he obtained his Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSCE) in 1993.

He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Geography from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2000.

He furthered his studies at the Paris Graduate School of Management in France, earning an MBA in Human Resource Management in 2007, and later returned to KNUST to complete a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Human Resource Management in 2021.

A multilingual professional, Nana Kwabena Sae III is fluent in English, French, and Twi. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants – Ghana.

His professional experience spans nearly 30 years, with a career that includes roles in both public and private institutions. He began his career at the Young Women Christian Association (YWCA), where he completed his National Service.

He later served as a tutor at Faith Assemblies of God Secondary School in Kumasi and as Assistant District Coordinator at the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in Sunyani.

In October 2003, he joined Sunyani Technical University as a Senior Administrative Assistant. Through dedication, resilience, and consistent performance, he rose through the ranks and currently serves as the Director of Human Resources Development.

Known for his strong work ethic and ability to work independently, Nana Kwabena Sae III is a team player who thrives in multicultural settings. He is adept at multitasking and possesses practical skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet applications.

He has authored several research papers and participated in numerous conferences and workshops, further strengthening his expertise and professional influence in the field of human resource management.
