The incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Chairman for New Juaben South, Charles Oseipoku Boakye, is asking delegates for another term on the strength of peace, performance, and a record of bringing the party together.
Described by many in the constituency as a leader who presided over a “very peaceful era,” Mr. Oseipoku Boakye says his tenure has been defined by one priority and that’s making the NPP work as a united machine from top to base.
Continuity
According to the chairman, one of his proudest achievements is fostering a united front between the constituency executive, the Member of Parliament, and the Municipal Chief Executive when the NPP was in government.
That cohesion, he argues, translated into visible development across New Juaben South. He points to a wave of internal asphalt roads, new and renovated schools, the construction of an Astroturf, and job opportunities for young people as direct outcomes of a party that spoke with one voice.
The chairman is framing the upcoming election as a choice about continuity. “This election is about rewarding accountability and achievements. The party needs experienced hands at this critical time if we are to wrestle power back.
Welfare was something we took seriously with members. When the base feels cared for, the party becomes attractive, and that is what we built through dedication, hard work, and unity,”he said.
24-hour economy market
He also highlighted infrastructure delivery under the NPP, noting that the constituency experienced significant road construction when the party was in power. Going forward, he says his focus will remain on securing more jobs for the youth and pushing more developmental projects.
Mr. Oseipoku Boakye also waded into national policy, questioning the NDC’s approach to the 24-hour economy in Koforidua. He cited the market constructed by the NPP at Zongo, arguing that the new administration should have completed and used it for the policy instead.
“All they had to do was to continue, complete it and use it as the 24-hour economy market. But no, they have sacked all the market women at Agartha Market in a bid to build a new market. It is a wasteful venture if you ask me. Just move the market to the newly constructed Zongo Market by the NPP,” he stated.
