Two groups have issued congratulatory messages to the Omanhene of Dormaa, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, who is also the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, on his elevation to the position of Justice of the Court of Appeal in Ghana.
The Bonokyempem Association and the Council of Bono and Ahafo Associations of North America (COBAANA) in separate statements, noted that Nana Agyeman Badu II’s elevation is clear evidence and recognition of his commitment to justice delivery and building public trust in the judicial system.
A statement signed by its President, Mr. Fosu Gideon, the Bonokyempem Association, which is made up of indigenous young men and women across the Bono and Bono East Regions who have come together seeking the socioeconomic and infrastructure development activities and welfare for the regions, stated that: “Your Wisdom, integrity and dedicated Service to Ghana is an inspiration to us and we are proud of you as our leader, father and mentor.”
COBAANA, on its part, described the appointment as a proud and historic moment not only for the people of Dormaa, but for the entire Bono Region, the Bono East, and Ahafo Regions, and indeed all of Ghana.
“Nana Agyemang Badu II’s appointment is a source of immense pride and inspiration. It represents the seamless blend of traditional leadership and modern governance and stands as a beacon of excellence for our communities,” it said in a statement signed by its Chairman, Dr. Degraft Kwafo.
COBAANA also commended all other newly appointed Justices of the Court of Appeal, acknowledging their experience, integrity, and critical role in upholding Ghana’s legal system.
“Your service at the appellate level is essential to ensuring justice, fairness, and the continued strengthening of our democracy,” the Council noted.
“Your Wisdom, integrity and dedicated Service to Ghana is an inspiration to us and we are proud of you as our leader, father and mentor”.
Nana Agyeman Badu II, also the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs was known in private life as Justice Daniel Mensah was elevation from High Court Judge in Ghana and sworn in on Thursday together with fellow 20 Justices to serve as Justices of the Appeals Court.
He served as the High Court Judge from 2010 to 2025 and is currently serving as the Governing Council of the University of Energy and Natural Resources.
