The Nkoranza North District Chief Executive (DCE), Patrick Effah, has paid courtesy call on the traditional authorities in Nkoranza to officially introduce himself, outline his vision and solicit their support and advice on the way forward in advancing the development of the area.
Mr. Effah, also known as Patoo, met with the Omanhene of Nkoranza, Nana Kwame Baffoe IV and his elders, and engaged them in fruitful discussions.
Speaking to the media after his meeting with the chiefs, the DCE noted that he has come to serve the people of Nkoranza North district and would always pay attention to the concerns, suggestions and admonitions from all stakeholders.
“Our chiefs have potential roles to play in terms of development, and by blessing us with encouragement”, he stated.
Collaboration
Mr. Effah Patrick appealed to the traditional leaders to see him as their son and support and guide him to ensure his administration succeeds to the benefit of the entire district.
“In all human institutions, there are challenges from different angles, but we should not let them hinder our plans for accelerated development in the district. I call for unity on all fronts as we chart the path of accelerated economic growth and development,” he stressed.
Since assuming office a few weeks ago, Effah Patrick has been working hard to ensure that each community gets its fair share of the national cake.
For instance, over one thousand residents of Timiabu, Madina and Konkrompe and other communities in his district are being provided with portable drinking water.
He attributed his success so far to the traditional council’s efforts and prayers and expressed gratitude to the leaders.
Challenges
Touching on challenges in Nkoranza North’s development, Effah Patrick mentioned the deplorable nature of roads in the district.
“Our major concern in the Nkoranza North district is the bad roads, not only that, but we also have educational challenges which include bad environments and infrastructures”, he bemoaned.
He added that teachers will be motivated and encouraged by introducing teacher award schemes and other forms of motivation to accelerate their developments.
He concluded with the assurance that he will be able to help develop Nkoranza North to remunerate and justify the trust placed in him by the President of Ghana.
The DCE was accompanied by the Member of Parliament for the Nkoranza North Constituency, Hon. Joseph Kwasi Mensah, some party members, and staff of the District Assembly.
