The Omanhene of Sunyani, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, has pledged the full support of the Sunyani Traditional Council to Ghana’s newly commissioned Ambassador to Egypt, Prof. Justice Solomon Korantwi-Barimah.
The assurance follows the diplomat’s courtesy call on the Omanhene to formally announce his appointment by President John Dramani Mahama and to seek his blessings ahead of his departure.
Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II commended Prof. Korantwi-Barimah on his new role and promised to continually remember him in prayer, expressing confidence that he will excel in his ambassadorial duties.
Ghanaians’ welfare
He urged the envoy to prioritize the welfare of Ghanaians living in Egypt and in all other countries under his accreditation, and to serve with “love, diligence, truthfulness, and integrity.”
The Omanhene further highlighted Egypt’s strong educational infrastructure and encouraged the Ambassador to explore avenues through which Ghana could benefit from enhanced cooperation in the sector.
He also appealed to friends and associates of Prof. Korantwi-Barimah to moderate their expectations and instead support him with prayers to help him succeed for the collective good.
Prof. Korantwi-Barimah expressed deep gratitude to the Omanhene for his longstanding support and assured him of his commitment to serve wholeheartedly and uphold the dignity of Ghana in his new capacity.
Czech Republic
In a related development, Ghana’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Madam Theresah Adjei-Mensah, has informed the Sunyanimanhene, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, of her appointment and officially confirmed her upcoming departure from Sunyani.
Nananom of the Sunyani Traditional Council commended her for her selfless and dedicated service to the traditional area and expressed their profound gratitude for her contributions, especially her role as a funeral committee member.
Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II also conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to her for the support she has shown to the Sunyani Traditional Council over the years and her pieces of advice to him personally.
